About Zexen Knights Banner

The Zexen Knights are the elite army units that are sworn to protect the rights and sovereignty of the Zexen Federation.

They are headed by the well-known Six Mighty Knights of Zexen led by Lady Chris Lightfellow, following the death of their previous captain Sir Galahad and vice-captain Sir Pelize prior to the beginning of the

Suikoden III Chris's Story Chapter 1. The rest of the Six Mighty Knights consist of Percival, Borus, Leo, Roland, and Salome.

These knights usually wear full-suit plate armour with headgears, and carry longswords with them in their line of duty. They are easily identifiable from their armour tagged with orange warskirts (or purple,

probably due to rank). Another variation, probably due to rank, is orange padded leather armour with roundtop headgears and black scarfs.

In webmaster's opinion, Zexen Knights resemble the European knights of medieval ages, with some Germanic flavour.

The Zexen Federation Banner

The Zexen Federation was formed by an alliance of merchant guilds. With this alliance and the founding of the federation, a ruling body was established and called the Zexen Council, which consists of seven members.

Oligarchy administration style, bureaucratic and proud, their members were chosen by the Master Guild, the most powerful merchant guild in the land. One of the members happened to be Thomas's (one of the 108 stars) father. It grew to become a powerful force, which posed a threat to the neighbouring Grassland

clans but an armistice was being agreed on during the early stage of the Suikoden III story.

The heart of the Zexen Knights lies at Brass Castle but the capital of the Zexen Federation is at Vinay del Zexay, a port town located on the hillslope overlooking the sea that stretches from the Seigel Gate entrance to the bustling trading post of Port Avenue. It also houses many wealthy folks including the Lightfellow family and trade merchants. The capital grew out of the deer antler trade business, where

a renowned merchant called Gezel Hyatt made a fortune from it and built the international port.

Vinay del Zexay is also the centre of learning and research where scholars flocked to its library to study books from all over Suikoden world.

In webmaster's opinion, the Zexen Federation resembles the historical Hanseatic League, a medieval association of north German cities, formed in 13th century as a commercial alliance that developed into an independent political power.
